Social and Emotional Literacy

As the task of teaching grows ever more challenging, educators need to know how to understand social and emotional learning to help students manage their emotions and behaviours. Bolstering emotional learning provides students with significant advantages in their cognitive abilities, skills performance and interpersonal adjustment. This workshop presents a number of perspectives and programs for educators to promote social and emotional learning in the classroom. Programs are identified that assist students to learn to monitor and manage their own feelings, develop a positive self image, identify with others and be able to listen and communicate verbally and non verbally.
